- What's up everybody? My name is Rachel, otherwise known as RayRay, Ray, and whatever else you wanna call me. I'm a really down to earth girl with a good sense of humor. I crack jokes all the time and their's a 100% guarantee that I can make you laugh! :D I'm not stupid either, I graduated from nursing school as a LPN in 2007. Graduated from Millbrook High in 2004. I've lived in Raleigh since I was 13, except for the 2 years I was in school, I was in VA for that. I agree with you a thousand percent. I when I became a young adult and old enough to date, a close family member told me that I can be friends with them (a white man) but don't bring them home. I never stopped to ask why. Lord knows I have had my crushes on white dudes but never stepped to them out of "fear" that they would not kick it with me because I am black. It does not bother me that sisters from other cultures are dating black men. I am not married to any of them and there is no contract that says that black men are for black women and vice versa. I believe that these are old wounds from slavery and bigotry that our culture are afraid to be open to the new times by accepting that not everyone is prejudice and want to hang us on a tree. This is LOVE we are in search for and the meat source is skim if we just sit around and wait for that ideal dude to come around.
Mary J. Blige once made a statement," You have to be the kind of person you want your man to be." The only thing is he may be white, asian, puerto rican, hatian, italian, or whatever. "YOU" have to be the one to accept that.
So to my family member's statement, fine.... I JUST WON'T BRING HIM TO YOUR HOUSE.

I overheard 3 black female coworkers saying "Why is she trying to steal all our men?!". That pissed me off and it was an ignorant thing to say, but being the bigger person meant ignoring it and living my life. I've had a lot of close black
